Yes you can definitely breastfeed him, ideally exclusive breastfeeding should be practiced upto 6 months. Since you have started formula milk (might be through bottle) therefore he prefers to use that mode rather than breastfeeding as it requires more energy consumption by baby.
There is nothing like no milk. Whenever your baby sucks on breast there is release of certain harmones which produces milk. U can have tab perinorm 1 tab three times a day for 14 days & promolact granules 2 tsf with milk twice a day. Take plenty of fluids with atleast 1 litre milk in your diet, oats, balanced diet with fresh fruits & vegetables, dryfruits to have adequate milk production. Avoid consuming tea, alcohal, coffee, cold drinks while breastfeefing. Also take iron, calcium & protein supplements.
For a 2 mth old passing stools 7-8 times a day to passing once in 7 days is normal unless your child is active, accepting feeds, passing urine 6-7 times a day & stools are non foul smelling & non blood stained.
Dear Lybrate user
any specific reason you are feeding your baby isomil? Isomil is a soy based, lactose free milk powder. Check with your pediatrician why she suggested isomil. Is your child lactose intolerant or has any other food intolerance issues? This could be one of the possible reasons that the child is not tolerating ceralac. Also blood in stools is also not normal. Please consult your paediatrician at the earliest.
Hi. No! pls don’t do all that without consultation of a paediatrician. Pls give 400 iu calcitriol daily once daily to the baby till 1 yr. After that give the baby 600 iu calcitriol till 1-2 years daily once daily. Thanks.
