My 6 year old boy right wrist bones fractured, jc wire inserted, after 48 days jc wire removed becoz of bone infection, high fever, debridement done. Linezolid prescribed for mrsa bacterial infection for 6 weeks. Surgical wound healed and stopped antibiotic started physiotherapy after 6 months taking x-ray showed 90 percent bone joined. Due to physiotherapy surgical wound slowly started oozing pushing. My question is right now he is not having any fever, but everyday 2-3 drops of pus coming out even though dressing is done and wound covered, is there still bone infection or superficial infection? For mrsa infection antibiotic should be given for 6 weeks or 3 months. Which is correct? Some doctors telling to stop antibiotic if there is no fever bcoz bacteria might get resistance. Some doctors due to pus suggesting to continue for 3 months please help.

At present do blood reports - crp, esr,tc, dc to rule out infection and repeat x-ray to see changes of osteomyelitis if not done recently.
