I am 56 years male. I am suffering from diabetics for last 10 years. I am taking forxiga 10 mg in morning. And jalra m 50/1000 in afternoon and night still my blood sugar before food is 115 and after food is 180 is it ok or I will change the medicine.

Sugar levels ok but for better control you can check your dinner and if you can modify or reduce your intake it will be under good control.

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query. The glucose levels mentioned are fairly good. Ideally fasting should be < 100 mg, pp 150 to 170 mg & hba1c% should be < 6.8%. You are close to it. There is no need to change the drugs. Above mentioned values can be achieved by making minor adjustments in your diet and incresing the exercise schedule. One major issue with you is your excessive weight. With a bmi of 30.44 kgs/sq meter (normal < 23 kgs/sq meter), which means you have an excess of over 26 kgs. Therefore, reduction of 5 to 8% of current weight will help in excellent control of blood glucose. Thanks.
