Which is better test for detecting early kidney damage -the spot albumin to creatinine ratio test or spot protein to creatinine urine test? My mother's routine urine test is normal. She has hypertension and prediabetes. Her creatinine and bun are also within normal range.

These two tests are similar. You can order the first one If you want good health, tests is not a good way. Correct diet is the secret to good health. It will reverse her diabetes, protect her kidneys and prevent any further diseases. Diabetes is caused by modern high-glucose diet. Even her thyroid problem probably due to same.
