Hello, Thanks for the query. Fasting and PP glucose values are on the higher side. Ideally when diabetes is well controlled Fasting glucose should be < 100 mg & PP 160 to 170 mg HbA1c% < 7. Tablet Tenelegliptin with metformin (1000 mg) is good, and unlikely to cause any hypoglycemic (low sugar) symptoms. It is better if you check her blood glucose when she complains of those symptoms which you have mentioned. Then one can look at altering the treatment. Thanks.

It requires a thorough examination and review as to why she complains of sudden hunger and palpitations. Let the doctor also review her cardiac functions and other aspects of health to come to some conclusion. She can be taught to check her blood sugar with a glucometer (easy to do) at home on a regular basis so that the doctor can examine the trend. Please discuss the various options to educate the patient so that she can take proper precautions without getting panicky. Kindly read about Diabetes from the internet and what precautions can be taken to educate the patient to be self reliant.
