Groin swelling could be due to hernia, node or rarely dilated vein (Saphena Varix). Lymph node in groin could be due to infection or cancer of the leg, penis or anal canal or as a part of generalised lymphadenopathy like in tuberculosis, lymphoma or HIV. It is better to see a good general surgeon, who would take a good history, examine you and if need be ask for an ultrasound and a FNAC or Biopsy of the node if felt. Feel free to contact me directly if you want to discuss this further.
