Autosomal Dominant Spheroid Body Myopathy is a type of myofibrillar myopathy (MFM), causing neuromuscular degeneration. It is distinctly different from other disease by its clinical and morphologic features such as motor regression, and appearance of spheroid bodies in myofibers which are devoid of organelles. This disease does not necessarily decrease one's life span.
HOW IS SPHEROID BODY MYOPATHY DIAGNOSED?
Autosomal dominant Spheroid Body Myopathy has so far been detected mostly in Indiana and Oregon.
