Dear Lybrateuser, - To control your BP & blood sugar follow some lifestyle changes - have a well balanced diet with more of fibrous foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains instead of refined ones, low fat milk & milk products, eggs, legumes, pulses, sprouts, nuts such as almonds, walnuts, pista, peanuts, seeds such as flax, sesame, papaya - avoid fried, processed, sugar containing & junk food, restrict salt & salty foods like pickles, papads, namkeens, bakery products - include a protein food in every meal & as a snack to keep the sugar levels constant - have 4-6 small meals including snacks rather than three large meals to keep blood sugar stable, have meals on time, do not skip meals - do regular exercise like walking, jogging, swimming for 20-30 min, yoga, meditation & deep breathing for 5-10 min a day - reduce weight if overweight by diet & exercise - consult a physician for medications after proper investigation.
