Dear Lybrateuser, - To keep your BP under control take a few dietary precautions, do regular exercise, reduce weight& take your medication as prescribed regularly - have more of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low fat milk & milk products heart healthy fats as found in seafood, walnuts, olive, canola or sunflower oil, avocados - avoid fried, processed & junk foods, foods containing saturated & trans fats, also restrict intake of tea, coffee to 2-3 cups per day, avoid alcohol & smoking if you do so - do regular exercise like brisk walking, jogging, swimming for 20-30 min, also do yoga, deep breathing & medication daily for 5-10 min to destress & keep your BP within normal limits - sleep well for 7-8 hrs at night & monitor BP regularly.
