Diabetes Mellites is classified broadly as type 1 and type 2 ,based on the complete absence of insulin production in body or due to insulin resistance in the body, respectively. Type 1 is more often diagnosed at younger age itself in children and adolescents. Where as type 2 is more often diagnosed after 30s. Both have serious complications ,when uncontrolled. Acute emergencies such as diabetic keto acidosis, can often present as the first incident in type 1 diabetes. There are also other variations. Whatever may be the type of diabetes if sugars are not controlled can result in major complications.type diabetes

Both conditions need to be properly treated, blood glucose levels and HbA1c% have to be effectively controlled if one wants to live a long life and that to free from from long-term complications of diabetes.
