Dear Lybrateuser, - To avoid increase in blood pressure one has to lead a healthy lifestyle including a well balanced diet with more of fibre containing foods like fruits, vegetables, lentils, pulses, beans, sprouts, nuts - avoid deep fried, processed & junk foods, restrict intake of salt & salty, fried snacks, also do not have more than 1-2 cups of tea, coffee per day - do regular exercise like walking, jogging, swimming, playing games, also do yoga & deep breathing for 5-10 min daily morning - keep weight under control by diet & exercise - destress by reading, listening to music, following a hobby - monitor BP, blood cholesterol & sugar levels regularly if you have a risk factor.
