In my opinion, you should get urself examined with an ENT physician. It is most probably not because of smoking, still its better you stop smoking. It could be a swelling eg, ranula like cyst. If it gets infected it can become a problem. Hope you get benefitted from my answer.

Dear lybrate-user, It is better that you consult a dentist or general physician to diagnose the lump in the mouth. Prevention is better than cure. But in future, if you stop smoking, your chances of NOT getting such problems will be reduced. Since it is just 2 years since you started smoking, it will not be very difficult for to motivate yourselves continuously to quit smoking. All the best in your effort.
