So first confirm she got the disease or not. 4th generation elisa is the latest and very sensitive in identification of hiv infection. Dna pcr predicts viral load and costlier than elisa. Both are equally effective and I usually prescribe the elisa first and if it's positive then we go for hiv viral load and drug sensitivity. So stop worrying. Confirm your partner's hiv status. In case of positive then you test for 4th generation elisa. Even if it is negative, repeat the test at 3rd, 6th and finally at 12th month. 1st get a hiv card test done for you and that aunty and if it comes possitive in her than only you need to worry and if it is negative for both of you than repeat hiv elisa after six mnth because just after few days you can not detect whether you are infected or not usually its incubation period is 3 to 4 mnths after six mnths only you can be asure if test will be negative.
