I got some mouth ulcers, a month before, it was not healing a lot, as I guess I was eating sour and spicy food. I bought oragel on may 11 and started applying it, its healing little bit but not going away at all! my main concern is, the ulcer is on the gums, one is at bottom gum and one at upper gum! is it just ulcers or syphilis? I am scared and confused! no unprotected sex happened!

Dear Lybrate user, most probably your problem is aphthous ulcers- the actual cause is unknown and hence many symptomatic and supportive treatments are used. Taking vitamin b complex ;vitamin c suppliments is helpful. Gargling twice daily with warm saline with little dexamethasone powder and taking tetracycline cap 250 mg three times daily for 5 days also is useful. Gargling with mouthwash or curd is of some benefit .supplimenting intestinal flora and antacids for hyperacidity ,if any, also is useful. Improving oral hygiene by cleaning teeth after each food with soft brush is good. Get any sharp teeth repaired by your dentist. Avoiding oily; spicy;fried; roasted food; junk food ;alcohol; smoking also is good /take plenty of fresh green leafy veggies; other veggies and fresh fruits as salads and juices are good/ taking fresh ;soft; easily digestable whole grains ethnic food also will be beneficial - -avoiding egg and egg products and chicken preparations are of good benefit in some people. Avoiding mental stress; anxiety; fear; anger etc and filling your mind with happiness and smiling; helping others ; supporting ; encouraging and appreciating others and making a good daily schedule of activities with enough time for toilet purposes; sleep ; entertainments ; food ; social activities and minimum screen time & obeying that schedule will also help you. As you had mentioned about sex--if oral sex was practsed--kindly have a check-up with a skin and vd doctor.
