Dear Lybrateuser, - It is said that the best time to get vit d from sunlight is for 15-20 min between 9 am or 10 am to 2 or 3 pm in the afternoon when the Sunrays are comparatively straight falling on the earth's surface.

A good rule of thumb is if your shadow is longer than you are tall, you?re not making much vitamin D. Therefore your skin produces more vitamin D if you expose it during the middle of the day.
