I have fatty liver. My cholesterol level is 240. I have taken orvas ft. Bt my friend told me that orvas ft is contraindicated for fatty liver. Is orvas ft contraindicated due to fatty liver?

Its not contraindicated but it does not cure fatty liver. Fatty liver treatment includes dietary and lifestyle changes and some medicines like Vit E etc.

Hi Mr. lybrate-user, With fatty liver, wee have to see your LDL and TGL and not only total cholestrol. Orvas has atorvaststin whihch is a medicaation to lower cholestrol. There are many medicines to lower cholestrol. If you have NASH (non alcoholic steatohepatits, the, Atorvas is not the drug of choice). Please send me your cholestrol report to see if you really need medication and if yes, then which one. I also need to know if you are diabetic or have any thyroid probles as they can contribute to having fatty liver. Take care.
