My cousin is 29 years old. She is suffering from hypothyroidism since 3 yrs. She delivered a baby girl which if of 3 months now. She is taking eltroxin 100 mg. And on recent TFT her tsh is (.155). What should she do now? How much dose of eltroxin should she consume? And her baby's stool color is dark green or grey in color. Is this any abnormality? Please guide me.

Her TSH is low means dose of Eltroxin is more than required. Regarding baby's problem consult a pediatrician.

Hello, Thanks for the query. TSH value 155 mU/L is too high, suggestive of uncontrolled hypothyroidism. It means her Levothyroxine dosage too less. Ideally when one is on treatment TSH should be maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L. Then only all the symptoms are in check. The dose of Levothyroxine has to be properly calculated on the basis of body weight, T4 & TSH values. So I need to know those details. Also please let me know if baby's thyroid function test has been done. What is the TSH level in it? Stool colour may not be a problem. Better talk to the pediatrician. Thanks.
