Old-age diabetes and poor nutrition and lying on bed for long time are causes of bedsores in your father If there is excess dead tissue in the bedsores area it has to be removed which is called debridement. Healing may or may not occur. Chance of healing will be better if he is moved or able to move around, receive good food and sugars kept under control. Other wise despite surgery the bedsores will remain and take a very long time and most often develop infections. Take care.
