Home Remedies For Body Pain: Procedure, Recovery, Risk & Complication

What is the remedy about?

There are many herbs and natural ingredients easily available in any household that can treat body pain. Most of them are derived from plants which can also act as a complementary to different alternative medicines. Here are some of the highly efficient natural ingredients which can help in easing body pain. Turmeric is widely used for treating of numerous health conditions such as indigestion, stomach upset, ulcers, psoriasis, inflammation and even cancer. People suffering from osteoarthritis often turn to turmeric for a natural means of relieving pain. Like any other health supplements, cloves can help in treating a wide array of conditions. Cloves can aid in relieving the pain stemming from headaches, arthritis, and inflammation and tooth pain. Cloves are also regarded as an excellent topical pain reliever. A study indicated that cloves can also help in treating fungal infections. If the pain is stemming from straining of muscles, ligaments or tendons, then applying ice pack directly to the affected sites can help in relieving the pain. Heat and ice therapy is one of the most common yet effective treatment options for body pain yet there are many people who are still not aware of the correct usage of heat and ice therapy. When any area of the body is inflamed, heat therapy can help in reducing the stiffness leading to sprains and strains. For instance, applying a cold pack on the head for some time can help in reducing the pain of a headache. But if the pain is stemming from arthritis, then you can apply moist heat to the affected joints as it would work more than the ice. You can heat it up numerous times in the oven and used as an excellent remedy for reducing the pain and inflammation.

Are there any side effects?

If applied correctly, there are no side effects of the home remedies for body pain. But there are times when a person fails to understand how to use the remedies and when to avoid them. For instance, if you apply heat to inflammation, it will worsen and lead to uncontrollable pain. Therefore, it is very important to understand what remedy is suitable for you and how to make it as an effective means of eliminating pain. Also, people who have bleeding issues or are taking blood-thinning medicines must be very careful while consuming clove or products made of cloves. This is because clove oil is believed to cause abnormal bleeding. Similarly, turmeric has been known to cause nausea and diarrhea in some. Women may have increased menstrual flow on consuming turmeric to relieve body pain. Hence, the remedies depend on individual conditions. Research extensively and start with the remedy that you think would suit you best and closely observe. If you notice any discomfort stop it immediately and give some time before you try another remedy. Take it slow and steady till you find what works for you and continue the same till you get complete cure. So, being aware of oneself and choosing the right remedy could work wonders and provide complete relief.

What are the post-remedy guidelines?

There are no such guidelines to follow except for that you should allow the affected part to rest until the pain goes away. For instance, if you have an injury in your legs while playing a sport, you should take rest for at least 2 weeks before you apply pressure on the affected muscles and tendons. There are some exercises which you can follow to help in easing the discomfort and try to keep the affected area above the level of your heart while sleeping to improve circulation and reducing pain. In general, proper diet, exercise, and ample rest can cure any ailment, and same is applicable in the case of body pain. After following the home remedy, to maintain the results take proper care of yourself in every possible way to avoid the recurrence of the problem.

How long does it take to recover?

In most cases, the results of the home remedy for body pain are permanent but it is entirely dependent on the cause of the discomfort. If the pain is stemming from arthritis or severe injury, then the pain may reoccur and you will again have to follow the same methods to eliminate the pain. Generally, these remedies work as effectively as over the counter drugs and you may have to follow them for 7 to 10 days. Coupled with the post-remedial care, the results can be sustainable and can help avoid the condition altogether in the long run.

Are the results of the remedy permanent?

Depending on the acuity of the body pain, it can be said that most of them go away by a week or two. But the cause of the pain also plays an important role in discerning how long the pain would last. For instance, if the pain is due to fatigue then the home remedies would start working from the first session itself while if it is coming due to falling off a flight of stairs, you will have to wait for about a month until the pain goes off. Hence, there is not fixed timeframe, it can be a matter of few hours to several days or months, but with perseverance sustainable results could be achieved.

Is there any training or experts required?

There is no training required to apply the home remedies for body pain when you know what’s causing the pain and how to mitigate them. You will have to choose the remedy wisely so that it doesn’t counteract the system of your body or your present clinical condition. But, if you are not able to understand the cause or when the cause is too severe, it is crucial to consult with an expert who can help you find the best remedies for your body pain. Especially, if there is any underlying condition that is the cause of the body pain it is imperative to seek medical help to avail proper cure.

Slip Disc Problems - How To Prevent Them?
Slip disk is a condition of the spinal column which consists of a stack of vertebras from the cervical, thoracic and the lumbar spine. The bones of the spine are cushioned by disks that are present to absorb shocks. Trauma to the spine may cause the disk to bulge or be ruptured. This may lead to pain in the neck and the back. Causes of Slip Disc- Slip disk is caused when the jelly like substance present in the disks bulges out. The damaged disk thus puts pressure on the adjacent nerve causing excruciating pain. The various causes of a slipped disk are: Incorrect form during exercise: If you are into weight lifting, it is important that you use proper form during exercising. Moves like barbell squat and deadlifts can put pressure on the spine and lead to disk problems, if not done correctly. Make sure you work on your core strength and keep your lower back straight while exercising. Smoking: Smoking causes the disks to lose their flexibility and thus, increases the risk of slipped disk. Ageing: Ageing decreases the content of water in the spine, thus leading to inflexibility. Symptoms- The symptoms of slip disk are: Pain on one side of the body that tends to aggravate over time. Activities such as sitting and coughing may lead to pressure on the spine causing pain. Your range of motion on certain movements may be restricted. Pain in the neck while moving it. Numbness in the shoulder and the neck region. You may experience tingling sensations in the genitals, hips and the legs. You may have muscles spasms which lead to sudden contraction of the muscles. It may also lead to partial paralysis of the lower body. Prevention If you are overweight, try to reduce weight and then focus on maintaining healthy weight levels. Maintain proper posture while sitting or standing. Exercise on a regular basis to build strength and keep your joints healthy. Don't remain in seated position for an extended period of time. Take small breaks in between to stretch.

4 Ayurvedic Remedies For Constipation Caused By Eating Junk Food!
Junk food is nothing but junk with no nutritional value. While it undoubtedly is lip smacking, but costs us our health without we knowing we are falling into an unhealthy trap. It is somehow wrong to say say we don't know what it does to our health, but we just tend to ignore. The junk food that we prefer to eat contains lots of salt, fat and artificial chemicals and now a days, more and more processed foods are finding their way into our refrigerators as they can just be picked up and eaten anytime hunger pangs are felt. Refined flour, white sugar, cheese, canned juices, frozen foods, cheese laden pizzas and breads are all yummy, but not something that is readily accepted and digested by your stomach. The most common problem they lead to is constipation as digestive organs find it increasingly difficult to digest them. While it is advisable to stay away from junk foods or at least not have them very frequently, if its consumption has caused you constipation and you'are looking for ways to find relief, here are some quick ayurvedic remedies for you: 1. Aloe vera - Besides acting as a remedy for minor burns and cuts, aloe vera gel also helps soothe your stomach. It functions as a natural laxative by making your stool softer. Moreover, it aids in protein digestion and makes the muscular structure of your intestines stronger, consequently providing relief from constipation. Have 2 tablespoons of aloe gel in morning by mixing it with your glass of fruit juice, or consume 1 cup of aloe vera juice. 2. Castor oil - Castor oil is often referred to as a stimulant laxative and is a very useful remedy for constipation. Castor oil enables smooth movement and functioning of the intestines, making it easier for stool to pass. Drink 1 to 2 teaspoons of castor oil on an empty stomach. It takes about 8 hours to show its effect, so decide which time of the day will be suitable for you to consume it. 3. Coconut Oil and Flaxseed - Coconut oil is a wonderful hydrating agent and eases stools. Flaxseeds help in the elimination of toxins, excess fat and cholesterol from the body. So in one tablespoon of coconut oil, add half a teaspoon of flaxseeds, chew well and eat this in morning. 4. Baking Powder - Baking powder has an alkalizing effect and eases movement through the bowels. Add a teaspoon to 1/4 cup of warm water and drink it quickly for best results.

How To Get Rid Of Kidney Stones?

How To Get Rid Of Kidney Stones?
A kidney stone may not be as big as the stones in your garden, but can be quite a pain. Kidney stones are actually mineral crystals that are usually a combination of calcium and phosphates. The size of a kidney stone ranges from the size of a sugar crystal to a ping pong ball. While some kidney stones pass out of the body along with urine, others can block the ureter and become painful. In addition to being painful, a kidney stone can cause permanent damage to your kidneys. Since large kidney stones are usually painful, they rarely go undiagnosed. However, if a kidney stone is left untreated, it could cause the kidney to atrophy and lower the functionality of the kidney. Kidney stones that are related to an infection can also lead to chronic urinary tract infections and damage the kidney through scarring and inflammation. This could eventually lead to kidney failure. Not all kidney stones need to be treated with surgery. If the kidney stone is very small, your doctor may prescribe plenty of water and medication to treat the pain. With plenty of water, you should be able to pass the stone in your urine. Ideally, you should take plenty of rest until the stone is passed. Larger kidney stones may need you to be hospitalized for treatment. These are: Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL): To begin this of treatment, a painkiller is administered. Ultrasonic waves are used to determine the location of the kidney stone. Shock waves are then passed through the kidney stone to break it into smaller pieces, which can then pass out of the body through urine. Ureteroscopy: This is also called retrograde intrarenal surgery and is performed when the kidney stone is stuck in the ureter. A ureteroscope is passed through the urethra and bladder into the ureter. Laser energy may then be used to break the stone into smaller pieces to unblock the ureter. Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL): This surgery is performed under general anesthesia. It involves a small incision being made in the back and a nephroscope passed into the kidney through it. Laser or pneumatic energy is then used to break up the stone into smaller pieces and pull them out. Open surgery: Open surgery is performed only in the case of an abnormally large stone or abnormal anatomy of the person. An incision is made in the back that allows the doctor to access the kidney and manually remove the stone.

5 Things You Need To Know Before Having Sex!

5 Things You Need To Know Before Having Sex!
Here is a list of things about sex that may have not been taught in your intimacy educational classes: Losing your virginity is not only restricted to penetration of the vagina with a penis: It can be anal sex, oral sex or sex with sex toys. And they will all count as sex. Not everyone bleeds the first time: The bleeding is because of the tearing of a tissue present in the vagina called the hymen. The amount one bleeds depends on the presence of that tissue. While some may bleed a lot, others may not bleed at all. In rare cases, a woman can be born without a hymen. Hymen check is not definitive of virginity: Hymen is a delicate tissue which can break while doing activities such as ballet dancing, horse riding or cycling. Even a sudden fall can tear the hymen. Some women may not be born with a hymen. So this does not prove virginity. It does not hurt always: Contrary to popular belief, sex does not have to hurt. You may experience a little bit of pain or pressure associated with a burning sensation. If it hurts too much, you must stop and emphasise more on foreplay in order to get lubricated. Foreplay is a must: Imagine going down a waterslide without water. That is how sex feels without foreplay. Foreplay can really warm things up for you and your partner. It increases arousal and makes it easier for both of you to climax. Sex is not about orgasms: It is true that most women do not orgasm the very first time they have sex. So your focus should be more on the process than the end result. Concentrate on finding out what you enjoy the most in bed or what gives pleasure to your partner. Erectile dysfunctions are not only for the older people: They can happen to anyone. Erections can be difficult to cope with; they come with their own moods and ideas. So there is nothing to worry about if you are not able to get it around the first time.

Arthritis - How Physiotherapy Can Help?
Arthritis is inflammation of one or more of your joints. Pain, swelling, and stiffness are the primary symptoms of arthritis. Any joint in the body may be affected by the disease, but it is particularly common in the knee. Knee arthritis can make it hard to do many everyday activities, such as walking or climbing stairs. It is a major cause of lost work time and a serious disability for many people. There are 2 types of arthritis the knee joint in the human body can get afflicted with. They are: Osteoarthritis: The form of arthritis which, with increasing pain, slowly wears down the joint cartilages is called osteoarthritis. This form of arthritis usually affects people after the age 40. The symptoms of osteoarthritis include: severe pain in the knee joints pain after walking up the stairs and it subsiding once you are on rest severe pain after the movement of joints for a long time pain that becomes worse in rainy days joints becoming stiff after waking up in the morning but they improve in the latter part of the day pain which also occurs in the thighs and the genital regions coupled with joints swelling and joints getting stiff after rest. Rheumatoid Arthritis: Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic form of arthritis caused because of the knee joint inflammations. This form of arthritis can occur at any age. Being an auto-immune disease, its symptoms include, but are not limited to: severe pain in the morning mild fever accompanying the pain joints suddenly becoming swollen, red and warm causing, immense pain sudden stiffness of the joints pain that increases in cold weather mild fever, extreme tiredness and weakening of the muscles Doctors are still doubtful about what exactly causes the disease; but the deformation of the immune system might cause the damage of the joints, causing people who are already suffering from obesity, smokers, and women, in general, more prone to this disease. When the knee pain is diagnosed as a form of arthritis, the following treatments are suggested: If you are overweight or obese, losing some of those extra pounds can go a long way in reducing the pain. Muscle-stretching exercises are effective in keeping the knee joints flexible. Acupuncture and devices such as knee braces and knee caps can relieve the pain. Prescribed dosage of anti-inflammatory drugs such as Tylenol, Motrin, and Advil or injections of hyaluronic acid might relieve your pain. If regular treatments do not work, you might opt for knee-replacement surgery and osteotomy (the process of cutting a bone with the help of surgery) which might better the alignment of the knee by transforming the bone shapes. Physiotherapy For Knee Arthritis- Physiotherapy treatment is aimed at improving the symptoms of the disease (i.e. knee pain, swelling, stiffness), and you should begin to notice a positive difference within one or a few physiotherapy sessions. The main goals of physiotherapy for your knee arthritis are: Reduce your knee pain and inflammation. Normalise your knee joint range of motion. Strengthen your knee: esp quadriceps (esp VMO) and hamstrings. Strengthen your lower limb: calves, hip and pelvis muscles. Improve your patellofemoral (knee cap) alignment and function. Normalise your muscle lengths. Improve your proprioception, agility and balance. Improve your technique and function eg walking, squatting.

Hi Fluctuating blood sugars damages the nerves, especially the nerves of the legs. This causes a lot of pain in the legs and burning sensation and is called neuritis if it's because of high blood sugar and neuropathy if it's a long term problem. So control of blood sugars is very important. Diet: Avoid carbohydrates like rice, bread, pastas, potatoes especially at night. Eat lot of vegetables, proteins like sprouts, egg whites, paneer. Drink plenty of water. Exercise regularly, 30 min a day for atleast 5 days a week. For his leg pain I can prescribe it in a private chat.
