Nausea refers to the uneasy feeling in the stomach that usually precedes vomiting. This condition can be attributed to a number of reasons, digestive being the primary one. Nausea is a common symptom of stomach infections and food poisoning and in severe cases, of bulimia or ulcers. It can also refer to motion sickness or morning sickness. Frequent bouts of nausea and vomiting have a detrimental draining effect on the body and should be checked by means of antimetics.

Nausea can also be induced due to psychological reasons like hyperventilation, anxiety and clinical depression.
