Dear lybrate-user, It is nice of you to help your friend. Please take him to a psychiatrist and get diagnosed. If it is major depressive disorder, he may be treated with antidepressants. If he is suicidal, he may be treated with electroconvulsive therapy also. It is possible that it may be an epileptic (fits) attack. In that case he will be investigated with blood tests and electroencephalogram. He will be started on long term antiepileptic tablets. In any case, he will be alright and normal with treatment. As a friend, it is your duty to take him to a psychiatrist even if he refuses. Otherwise try through family members.
