Good morning sir. My age is 48 and I am suffering from fast sugar since last 1 year. In first checkup it was 110 in second it was 120 and even after eating no sweets nothing sugar related things at present sugar is 130 (fast) No one ever had sugar in my parental family only my maternal uncle had sugar so my queries from you are. 1. If there is any specific age limit in which diabetes can occur or it can occur at any age? 2.Dr has not prescribed me any medicine so I want to ask beside jogging and exercise and diet control what else precaution should be taken?

1. Diabetes type 2 occurs more commonly in patients above 40 years of age. 2. You are not a diabetic yet you fall in pre-diabetic category. So, you need not take any prescriptions at present. I would suggest its better to control your sugar levels with controlled diet and regular exercise. Exercise is a best solution to stay away from diabetes.

Diabetes appears quiet early in most of the people with family history of diabetes. Besides that the modern life style is sedentary life style means very less physical activity, refined foods and lots of stress to meet the requirements. Because of these factors people in mid thirtees even have reported with diabetes. So the chances of developing diabetes mellitus increases with increase in age. As per the information provided by you, your sugar levels are high though but not that high for which medicine shall be prescribed. You can do the following: 1. Have fibre rich meal in dinner with low amount of carbohydrates like rice chappati etc. 2. Cut down consumption of rice, potato, sweets and sugar. 3. Do have a regular schedule of jogging/ running/swimming/ exercising/ yoga etc under the supervision of instructor. 4. Do not over eat at a time, have small meals at small intervals. 5. Try to loose some weight, as per your age and sex for your height weight should range between 65-70 kg.

1.there is not specific age limit 2. at present your sugar is in prediabetic range ,so do regular exercises and avoid high calorie diet like sugars,fats
