The report showed fbs -230 mg/dl and ppbs - 300 mg/dl, blood urea -44 and s.creatinine 2.2 .patient complaints of edema and frothy urine. Now patient was started on t. Metformin 1gm + t. Glimepiride 1 mg sr od and t. dapagliflozin 5 mg and asked to review after month? After one month patient reports was surprisingly fbs -230 mg/dl, ppbs - 420 mg/dl, hba1c -12, b.urea - 46, s. Creatinine - 2.3.what could have resulted in high sugar values.
