My mom54 years old diabetic, taking insulin since 2 years (morning 15, evng10,40international human mixtard units. please suggest some tables instead of insulin. She has post lunch sugar level 270-300.

Hi, diabetes medication shouldnot be switched suddenly without complete details and history. Even if switched to alternative, the patient needs to be closely monitored. Inspite of insulin, if the post prandial sugar is so high, I would suggest you to please continue with insulin currently but discuss with your mom's physician and kindly raise your concern. Your mom may need little change in medication and also lifestyle management. You can also take private consultation for the same where in you will need to share in all details regarding the patient, medical history, medication history. Best wishes.
