I have hsv2. I was seeing a guy and at the start we both got sti checked, both negative for hiv. Now I read that i?m more susceptible to it and it has my anxiety sky high (i have gad and I fixate)? what if he was cheating? What if he tested too early even though he said he had?t slept with anyone before me in 6 months? I feel like my anxiety has gotten ahold of me and i?m stressing over nothing.

It is understandable to feel anxious and worried about the possibility of contracting hiv when you have hsv2. However, it's important to try to remain calm and rational. Firstly, if you and your partner both got tested for stis and were negative for hiv at the start of your relationship, it is less likely that either of you have contracted it since then. Secondly, having hsv2 does not make you more susceptible to hiv, but it can increase the risk of hiv transmission if you have unprotected sex during an active outbreak. It's important to have open and honest communication with your partner about your concerns and to make sure that you both use protection during sexual activity to reduce the risk of any sti transmission. If you continue to experience high levels of anxiety, it may be helpful to speak with a mental health professional who can provide support and guidance on managing anxiety and coping with sti-related stress.
