I am looking for one answer. Just one word answer that a patient who is moderately depressed from 2-3 years. Can he beat it with exercise, CBT, Diet, yoga and relaxing techniques without taking any antidepressants. I am doing exercise daily. I am getting better and better day by day. I don't want to stop this improvement. But as the time progresses I am in doubt whether really I can be alright with exercise alone?

This is the problem of being a doctor, self analysis of symptoms. Please don't push yourself again into that vicious circle of thinking about depression and struggling to prevent it. It is a thing of a past, get over it or else it will not be over. Physical exercise etc do release endorpins, dopamine which are feel good chemicals. But in essence, your fear of unpleasant past coming in future is only an invitation in longer run.

Possibly no. Exercise and cbt have a positive effect on depression and are proven to improve depression. However in your case, the duration of illness i. E. 2-3 years is striking. This is just because chronic depression usually requires medications and a holistic approach with ruling our other causes of such depression like hormonal imbalances and specific vitamin deficiencies.
