Dear lybrate-user, I don't know much details about these plant based products. They are really good as supplements. They don't work as effectively as allopathic antidepressants in ocd. Instead of stopping medicines due to their side-effects, it is always better to discuss with your psychiatrist. There are different group of antidepressants that work in ocd. There is no drug without any side-effect. No pain, no gain. But these side-effects are not life threatening. Some will not be there after few days. Some are very beneficial for you. Some will not be there if you alter the dose. Your psychiatrist will be able to prescribe the best suited for you. Â

See, oziva sero d3 could be used as an adjuvant but not as a mainstay of pharmacotherapy (medicines ). It has multivitamins and omega 3 fatty acids. Which do help in patients with depression and anxiety but. It has no proven efficacy in ocd studies till date. So, as it is not us - fda approved, I would not recommend it as primary drug for ocd / associated depression / associated anxiety. Combination of ssris along with cbt has been known to produce the best results. I would suggest you consult a psychiatrist who would treat you with medications with lesser side effects and also would recommend to consult a psychologist. You can contact me or any psychiatrist whome you are comfortable with online on Lybrate. Â

You cannot cure yourself with this nutritional supplement alone. You need to go for extensive therapy and sort out the problem of fear underlying this condition. You should never stop any medication on your own without consulting your doctor anyway. Meet with a counselor first and then if that person recommends a psychiatrist to deal with this issue, do visit one as soon as possible. Please take your parents with you to determine the possible developmental issues that may have contributed to this condition. This is a fear-based condition and for some reason you have not been dealing with this childhood fear which has now developed unto these repetitive adaptations to seem to need it for normal functioning. The behavior will then become based on magical thinking and certain rituals will become necessary to do normal things making you believe that either the frequency or the ritual is important to its success. This of course is a fallacy but there will come a time that even if told the truth, your belief will defy any logic and you will continue behaving like that even if it cripples you in your daily routines. It only appears as though some other force is behind these behaviors and that you are compelled to act in this fashion. That is obviously not true but no one can convince you of anything different. The obsession is a repeating thought pattern with no meaningful outcome; and the compulsiveness is the need to act on those obsessions also in a repeated behavior pattern as though you just cannot help yourself. This is all driven by fear and when you are frustrated with it, you will escalate anger over it. Doubt, insecurity, uncertainty, and lack of firm memory will all plague you and increase stress. There are certain behavioral techniques to be implemented and if they work you may get out of this condition rather easily. If that does not work as desired, then medication has to be introduced, and in combination with counseling much work can be achieved. Â

Ocd is never going to be managed only by medications. If you want your ocd should not become more aggressive I would strongly suggest to go for erp + cbt therapy (exposure and response prevention with cognitive behavior therapy. Without initiating these therapies nothing is going to bring major change. Â
