Regards Lybrate user. Stiffness and pain in multiple joints are classical presentation in rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis affects many structures like muscles, tendons (structures that connect muscles with bone), ligaments (structures that pass over joints) etc. Stiffness in these structures & pain may occur. It is generally advisable to be active as much as one can tolerate. Moving the joints as tolerated without worsening pain is recommended. Physiotherapy can help you manage your pain, stiffness and improve movements facilitating your general mobility. Please ask your physician, if it is safe to participate in physiotherapy at any given time. Should the symptoms worsen, it is recommended to follow up with rheumatologist or orthopaedician.
