Hi, my mother age is 55 years old. She is suffering from high b.p. Problem. She is taking belong-4 tablets daily before but b.p. Is not controlling thn we consult another dctr nd they give us another tablets atenolol. We also done tests of cholesterol but there is nothing in reports. B.p. Is now again increasing while my mom is taking tablets. Plzz give me solution.

Hello, if her bp is not controlled on belong which is a first like anti hypertensive agent, then she should be given another 1st line drug like telmisartan or thiazine. Adding a 2nd line agent like atenolol is not advisable for bp control until she is on optimum doses of 1st line medicines. For doses and choice of medicines, consult online with her bp readings.
