I am 40 yr old. I have severe backache for the last 2 months. In my mri report I have a diffuse disc bulge at l5-s1. Could I go for operation or it can be cured by taking medicines only.

To answer your question I need specific answers and your investigations, then it is possible for me to give an opinion whether you require a surgery or not? can you tell me all your symptoms in detail like back pain, leg pain, numbness, paresthesias etc - tell me duration and intensity of back and leg pain on a scale of 1-10 how much distance can you walk? do you need pain killers regularly? what operation has been suggested to you ( please enclose doctor's prescription, mri and relevant x ray images) do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.
