It's quite common to get high blood sugar levels while taking steroids, nothing to worry in such range, continue your rebless 10 as per advice and check your fasting and post prandial blood sugar level after 14 days by laboratory test. Hba1c of more than 6.5 is suggesting you have diabetes mellitus.

your blood sugar levels will be controlled after totally stopping steroids.

lybrate-user ji, thanks for the query. I have seen the details given. It is clear that following steroids there is definite increase in the blood glucose. Another aspect hba1c% 6% shows you probably had high glucose even before, as hba1c% shows previous 3 months glucose average. There is no mention of your height, weight, present dietary pattern, extent of daily exercise, bp readings plus lipid profile. I hope your tsh is well with in normal (3 to 4 mu/l) limits. It apprears there is a need for starting some anti-diabetes treatment along with diet control and regular exercise. My suggestion is please come back with all the above information preferably in a private conversation as I can prescribe necessary medication. In this communication we are supposed to give only general guidelines, no drugs can be recommended or prescribed. Or else please consult your local physician. Please understand there is a need to start a proper treatment to control glucose and prevent further problems. Thanks.
