I'm hypothyroid and i'm taking eltroxin 50 mcg and 25 mcg tablets daily for the past 10+ years. Are there any serious foods I should completely stop taking, in internet I found not to take so many foods. My doubts are mainly for whole wheat flour (not storebought), flax seeds, white rice, millets - should I avoid all these at any cost. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for the query. Madam I have seen the details written. However, there is no mention of your current or recent tsh & t4 values as these are two most important factors to know whether hypothyroidism is in check or not. Secondly as regards the foods to be avoided do not go by google doctor, as the information is not always appropriate. Main foods to be avoided are soy beans and millets. Cruciferous vegetables like cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli, plus radish should be taken occasionally. Rest of the foods, vegetables all are fine. With wheat if any one has problem with gluten then there is a need to worry. If you have any questions please do come back. Thanks.
