Hi doc. Am using epiduo gel suggested my doc. As I had cystic acne and now my acne is under control and my skin texture is gud than b4. But its said it can not be used if v r trying to get pregnant etc. Then how to maintain my skin from acne and other skin issues after marriage. please epiduo suited me well what to do now.

Good morning madam. You have to stop epiduo 1 month before planning for pregnancy. But there are certain alternatives which you ca use during that time like azeaic acid cream, glycolic acid 3%-6% cream, lactic acid 6% cream or their combinations. Epiduo gel (as it contains adapalene and benzoyl peroxide) and being pregnancy category c drug (adapalene) is generally avoided in pregnancy or expecting mother.in that case you can use clindymycin gel twice daily. U can also use sunscreen twice daily during daytime. Do not prick the lesion/ avoid oily foods/ avoid sugar rich diet. Thanks.
