Hello no it is not at all concerned with any deficiency. It can affect your anterior tooth that is 2nd molar by tilting and also can cause caries in that. If you are feeling pain in that region, better go for extraction by visiting nearest oral surgeon.

Dear lybrate-user, term impaction is applied to inability of tooth to fully erupt into its proper position in oral cavity. Impacted wisdom teeth are very common. You must understand that it has no relation whatsoever to calcium deficiency or joint dysfunction. Wisdom tooth gets impacted when there is lack of space at most back region of jaw for it to erupt. Anthropological evidence suggests that our jaw sizes are reducing which means our previous generations had jaws large enough to accommodate wisdom teeth. Horizontal, vertical, distoangular ,they can get impacted in any direction. Hope this answers your query.

Horizontal tooth impaction are common now a days ,because of change diet over the time. We have reduced fibrous food in our diet, due to which there is reduction in chewing forces which has reduce size of lower jaw. There less space available to 3rd molar when they erupt ,so they get stuck. Small jaw size is genetic also.

Its natural developmental process in which last tooth or say wisdom tooth will not get enough space to come out properly in mouth so it remains impacted.

Hello lybrate-user. Impacted 3rd molars are very common. It usually occurs when there isn't enough space in the jaw for the complete eruption of that tooth. It has no connection with joints or calcium levels.

The main reason of impaction is loss of space in the jaws or deficient growth of jaw bones due to any reason. Time for eruption for all teeth except wisdom teeth is till 13 years. Wisdom teeth erupt on average between 17 - 21 years. During this gap, jaws have to develop to the extent to accommodate wisdom teeth allowing its full eruption in oral cavity. But due to any reason like deficient growth of jaws or early shedding of milk teeth may cause space loss which may cause any type of tooth impaction. Though this answer might not help you if you are asking for any research work. Its just a general perception for comman man to have some idea about it. Thanks.
