As a result of tender gums, the gums may swell, bleed and become highly sensitive. Pregnant women may suffer from this problem as they undergo hormonal changes. Bad breath may be another effect of this condition. Tender gums can be prevented by adopting some measures such as flossing, brushing gently with soft brushes, rinsing the mouth correctly after every meal, using a small amount of toothpaste, visiting the dentist regularly, not having foods high in sugars such as cakes, cookies, candies, and not drinking beverages such as sodas, tea and coffee. Chewing gums that are full of sugar should also be avoided.
HOW IS TENDER GUMS DIAGNOSED?
This problem is generally caused by the bacteria present in plaque.
