Hello, Thanks for the query. TSH 7.5 mcg, is with treatment or this is the value on testing for first time? Because TSH between 6 to 9.9 mU/L is considered as subclinical hypothyroidism and no treatment is advocated. However, if some one is already on treatment then TSH should be maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L with adequate dosage of levothyroxine. Since this aspect is not clear in your query, I wanted to know specific details. Hypothyroidism is a hormone (Thyroxine secreted by Thyroid gland) deficiency disorder. Since this hormone is required for many metabolic functions of our body and also for normal functioning of brain, there is a need for daily supplement of Levothyroxine fro outside. This is a condition for lifetiem. If treated wit correct dosage, then absolutely easy to manage. Thanks.
