Gait disturbances and dizziness could be the result of with drawl effects of prolonged usage of anti depressants. If you have any plan of stopping drugs, its highly preferable to taper the dosage of drugs before stopping them abruptly. Most antidepressant drugs can cause antidepressant with drawl syndrome on stopping. Imbalance in walking can also be caused by changes in blood pressure, glucose level, ear problems and many medical conditions. Actually there is no need to panic, regular screening for health helps. In your case most probably its secondary to with drawl effect.

If it is uni-polar depression ,your doctor would not have added licab xl .so I understand it is bipolar type depression. I hope you are watching your serum lithium level .higher serum lithium level can cause such symptoms. If the serum level is with in therapeutic range your imbalance my be due to something else. If that is the case you need to go for check up. You are welcome to meet me online.

Dear lybrate-user I feel that symptoms you mentioned is withdrawal symptom after stopping medicine suddenly. I would suggest that you complete the course (that last for at least one year in total if you experienced depression first time) than gradually reduce the dose over few weeks than stop the medication. Imbalance is not a typical symptom of depression. Be safe, get well soon.
