Hello sir my age is 47 and i'm diabetic (type 2) from 9 yrs. I'm talking combination of vildagliptin 50 mg with glyciphage sr 1 gm.in morning 1 vildagliptin and 1 glyciphage and in night 1 vildagliptin. But my morning fasting was 171 and p.p was 273.

Hello, Thanks for the query. I have seen the detail and following are my observations : Both fasting & PP glucose are very high. Which shows that present treatment is not adequate. Ideally in a well controlled diabetic person fasting glucose should be < 100 mg or closer to 100 mg, PP 150 to 170 mg & HbA1c% < 6.8%. There is no mention of HbA1c%, which gives a comparatively clearer picture of long term control. Therefore, there is a need to upgrade the current treatment and also look at your diet, extent of daily exercise. Please also inform lipid profile, serum creatinine, urea, microalbuminuria and BP readings. Then I will be able to guide specifically. Plus it is better if you come in a private conversation then I will be able to prescribe necessary drugs too. Or else, please get in touch with your consultant and get the necessary upgrade. Thanks.
