Hello, need help to withdraw betagel which I am using from 3 years prescribed by one of the skin specialist in india for some allergy and acne on my face. It gave me great results in the beginning and unfortunately I continued it again when I faced the same issue and could?t consult any dermatologist on this matter. Later when I consulted, the doctor could?t diagnose my issue with my face skin and treated for acne but that didn?t solve redness on my face but betagel did so again I continued as I was unaware it was a steroid. Now my face has lots of red rashes and recently came across topical steroid misuse on internet an am very much worried about my face. Please suggest me what can I do, can I stop applying betagel suddenly or steadily shall I withdraw. Please help on this. Thanks in advance.

Betagel 0.05% ointment is similar to the naturally occurring steroidal hormones (hydrocortisone/cortisone) produced by the adrenal glands. It is used to treat internal and external swelling associated with diseases like asthma, colitis, arthritis, severe skin allergies etc. It is also used for other conditions like adrenal hormonal insufficiency, certain types of anemia, cerebral edema etc.
