It really depends on the conditions, but once outside the body hiv isn't a very hardy virus. This is a big part of the reason why hiv isn't terribly easy to catch. You pretty much have to directly transfer virus containing body fluids from one person to another. Once the body fluids (blood, semen, etc) containing the virus is completely dry, the virus is dead (non-infectious). It can't survive dessication because of its structure, so it has to stay wet. On surfaces, a scrub with soap and water is going to be enough to inactivate it. It also can't survive on fomites like the flu virus can. This is why hiv is not airborne.

Hello and welcome to Lybrate. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Hiv may survive in dried blood for up to 5?6 days at room temperature. It might survive even longer inside blood that is within a syringe, as it does not have exposure to air. I suggest telephonic counseling and online psychotherapy for you. You can contact me for further advice and treatment options. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care.
