Hello, if it is not a chronic lesion that is the infection is limited nowadays single sitting root canal treatment is performed under local anesthesia so you don't have to worry about the pain. After the procedure if required antibiotics and pain killers will be given by the dentist. Thanks.

Takes 3 4 sittings first day pain is likely but anaesthetic is given after that no paib.

Nowadays root canal treatment is totally painless procedure done under hygienic condition and under effect of local anesthesia. The duration depend on the case and the tooth. It can be multiple visit and can also be done in one visit (duration could be 1.5 to 2 hrs). The best person make judgement about the rct duration and number of visit is you dentist. Thank you.

It may be done in single visit or may take three visits depending on condition inside the tooth .the amount of infection inside. Depends if the pulp is inflamed too much it may pain you. But if the pulp is chronic / necrosed it may not hurt you after injection. To reduce pain we may give intrapulpal injections. To reduce your discomfort. You will be ok do as dentist suggest you. You may share your x-ray once the rct is complete.

Root canal treatment (rct) depends on multi factors (for eg: extent of caries, extent of infection, abscess, how much sound tooth structure is remaining, etc etc etc). So rct can be done in single sitting just in 1 hour but for few cases it takes to 3-4 days or 2 weeks and some times if you you have long time infection it will take month to complete. Normally it takes 3-4 appointments. Hence time of rct depends on each case and it should be decided by the doctor how much time you need. Normally you will have slight discomfort during the procedure with mild pain, for that your doctors will prescribe pain killers and manage, in some cases it will be totally painless. In some cases patients experience severe pain where we need more appointments for them. Hence again it depends on each case. Sometimes patient will be having fear and just for that a small pain can be a big pain to that patient. So its about how you take up. Again normally people will be having slight discomfort with just mild pain where he can take medications for that and sometimes no pain at all.
