Hi, My age is 54 and I am living at Chennai. I have blood pressure and for this purpose, I have been taking one tablet of losartan potassium 25 mg at night after dinner for the past 10 years. Apart from this I control on diet and go for regular walk. Hence my BP is normal and well under control. I would like to know since I have been using the same medicine for the past 10 years, whether I can continue with the same medicine or the same needs to be changed. Also please advise me whether I can stop the medicine.

Hello. Stopping the medication all of a sudden may cause some pros n cons. You can do it on gradual way likewise you can stop it for a day and than again start it for next day and same thing go on. As well you also need to check whether you blood pressure is sustain due to medicine or just with the lifestyle. If it is because of medication than you can not stop it. Better to take a professional guidance as per your reports and lifestyle.
