My father's age 76 Years and having blood sugar and blood pressure recently we observed that his both hands, foots, and face got swelling so consult in area clinic, doctor advised to take one tablet lasix 40 mg for one week. But some of my family members told me taking tablet lasix for one week is dangerous. Can you please give me some suggestions, In View of my father's age & previous illness, is it safe to take lasix40 for one week. OR what is your advice.

Hello, Thanks for the query. Madam swelling of face, hands and lower limbs may occur when BP is not properly controlled, or there may be problem with kidney or liver functioning. Lasix is given to excrete extra water and sodium collected in the body leading to swelling. If your doctor has prescribed it, means it is required. Plus there is a need for achieving a strict glucose and BP control. Thanks.
