Dear sir, I have done my blood test last week. In this report my platelets count is 120. Remark- Alert! Platelets are mildly reduced in smear. Microplatelets are seen. What's that mean? Anything wrong with my blood report.

Platelet count is the number of platelets in the blood. A normal platelet count ranges from 150,000 to 350,000..If the number of platelets is too low, excessive bleeding can occur. 120 Is not bad. I assume you are in watch and wait and get it checked again after some time. Include foods like Lean meats such as fish, chicken and turkey are rich in protein, zinc and Vitamin B12, all of which help increase the blood platelet count. Beans contain Vitamin B9 or folate which greatly helps boost the blood platelet count. Some other foods rich in B9 are spinach, asparagus, and oranges also helpful.
