Dear lybrateuser, Depending on your BP level your BP may be controlled by lifestyle modification only or also medicines - try to follow a healthy lifestyle : - have a salt restricted diet, also avoid fried, fat containing & junk food, restrict intake of tea , coffee to 1-2 cups per day, avoid alcohol & smoking if you do - have more of fibre containing food like fruits, vegetables including green leafy ones, whole grains like whole wheat, brown rice, oats, corn instead of refined ones, legumes, peas, sprouts, nuts such as almonds, walnuts, pista, cashews, peanuts, also heart healthy fats as in olive, canola & sunflower oil for cooking, nuts, avocados, seeds such as flax, chia & sesame - do regular exercise like brisk walking, jogging, swimming, yoga, meditation & deep breathing to relax yourind & body which will greatly help reduce your BP to some extent - sleep well for at least 7-8 hrs at night, keep your sleep & wake up time fixed - reduce weight by diet & exercise if you are overweight - de-stress by reading, listening to music or follow a hobby.
