I'm 22 years old, still a student, I used to have back pain from time to time. Sometimes, after I bent down to do some work for a couple of minutes, it used to be very painful and couldn't stand straight. And sometimes, I pick things from the ground but can't stand straight after picking the things. What possibility could be the reason for the pain?

You probably have spasm of muscles supporting your spine, usually due to bad posture. Take few days of muscle relaxants and start physiotherapy/stretching exercises for back.
