My father diagnosed with triple vessel disease (it's detected through angiogram) and doctors recommended him to go for bypass surgery. My father has mediclaim with PED (preexisting disease) as "diabetes mellitus and it's complications" he went through the whole body check up before taking the mediclaim (blood test ,ECG etc) and we have no claims for 3 years. So my question is will the bypass surgery will be covered under the mediclaim? My father sugar levels are normal& he never took insulin till date and he had no previous symptoms of chest pain before until this month. Is triple disease is caused by diabetes? Though his sugar levels are normal. So will "triple disease" will b considered as preexisting disease? Because my father never had any complications in his chest ever. Hence require doctors advice on the same so that bypass surgery can be covered through mediclaim!

Check with the insurance company, if it is discount insurance, they often make excuses, but in your case you should succeed. Before jumping into surgery, I suggest you take another opinion. Angio CD can be reviewed via email. Sometimes better options are present but get missed.
