You can keep aspirin and nitrate tablets for emergency, but this is not a good solution. Chest discomfort can occur from various problems, and different medicine required for each condition. Stay in touch with a reliable cardiologist, or M.D. Physician. Keep ambulance phone number of cardiac hospital near to home. Have a plan on whom you will request for help in emergency. Neighbor? Relative? Friend? Lastly, but not least, you can avoid heart attack once you know the cause of this common disease. I can tell you, or any well read biologist can. Best wishes.
