Hi, My wife is 35 years old. Her Mammogram report says BIRADS 2 for one side and 2/3 for another side. Did FNAC, report is atypical cells found, advice for frozen or excision biopsy for definitive opinion. Please advise. (20 years back she operated one lump in breast it was benign)

Must get frozen biopsy for further management.
Ask Free Question
BRIDS 2 is benign and 3 is probability FNAC shows benign calcification it may be due to previous surgery you may require annual screening of breast if not opting for surgery as your doctor has adviced for frozen biopsy because the extent of surgery simple or radical depends on the report I advice to get operated because it will rule out fear of malignancy I think it must be only a calcified tissue of breast fibroadenoma of previous surgery.
Ask Free Question
Biopsy is indicated if BIRADS score is 4 and above, but as the FNAC is showing atypical cells, frozen sections must be done. Don't worry, Hope she will get well soon.
Ask Free Question
Please get excision biopsy done to confirm the diagnosis as FNAC is suggestive of atypical cells.
