Hello Lybrate user, I can understand your pain and anguish at the loss of a relationship. The emotional turmoil and surge of feelings can be very troublesome. However you are very correct in recognizing that you have to move on. But please do understand that your mind will take it's time in the process of grieving for the loss that it has entailed. Hence if less tba 2-3 months have elapsed please give yourselves time. The expectation of the modern day society that we must get up the next day, and everything will fall into its place is grossly mistaken. Please remember the age old adage that "time is one of the biggest healer" In the meanwhile please be around people who care for you like your family, friends etc, keep yourself engaged, keep up with regular exercise/yoga, healthy and regular meal times, and a regular routine, try to cultivate or reignite a hobby, do not be afraid or neglecting towards your pain, rather recognize them and tell yourself that "this too shall pass" write down your thoughts, do not please fall for a rebound relationship. However please consult a psychiatrist if any of the following is true for you- inability to get better even after 3-4 months, presence of ideas of self harm/death/suicide, gross impairment of day to day functions, unbearable or very significant distress, gross neglect of self care. Hope this helps you. Best wishes for your health and future.
